The separate studio addition to the 1960’s original beachside holiday house was designed primarily to provide additional accommodation but also as a separate studio structure meeting complying development standards as a “prototype” that could be repeated in part in different locations.
The design of the new studio was to sit comfortably, by way of size and form, within the context of the two existing structures on site. Whilst modest in proportion, the studio is highly detailed in its construction and planned to maximise its function in a small footprint.
The slender roofline’s simplicity hides the complexity and skill of the structure within. The external cantilever appears to float above the highlight frameless glass.
Chris & his team where professional, skilled and reliable in delivering on our project. We were impressed with their organisational ability, onsite leadership & attention to detail, always willing to solve problems or address challenges.
