Chris Hayward
Director / Head Builder
Having completed his pre-apprenticeship in 2002, Chris honed his construction skills over the ensuing decade from the South Coast to Sydney with New Steel Homes. Taking time to travel Australia and other parts of the world brought from a love of surfing and outdoor adventures, Chris returned to the South Coast and a few years later in 2013, he established Creative Constructions.
Built from the core values of trust and integrity, Chris quickly established Creative Constructions as a leading bespoke building company. Sought out by local and metropolitan entities alike, Creative Constructions successfully delivered many residential builds, renovations and commercial projects for Bannisters By The Sea and eminent Sydney Architect Tony Freeman of TF Architects.
In 2019, New View Building Solutions was born from the foundations laid by Creative Constructions. In New View, Chris continues his hands-on approach by overseeing every project, ensuring his high standards are replicated and amplified by his experienced team. Known for his honest communication and strong leadership, Chris guides all New View construction projects from design concepts to completion - this is what makes New View construction projects stand out from the rest.
When he is not on-site with his team or coordinating project stakeholders, you will find Chris somewhere outdoors, either adventure camping, caravaning, bike riding or surfing. Chris is also passionate about supporting his local community and is involved with several local not-for-profit projects.

Nathan Marks
Leading Hand Carpenter
Nathan is a highly skilled leading hand carpenter known for his technical expertise and exceptional craftsmanship.
He completed his apprenticeship locally under award-winning builders, where he honed his skills and gained a deep understanding of both the practical and creative aspects of construction.
With a natural focus on design, Nathan has a unique ability to translate complex architectural plans into stunning, functional spaces. He excels at integrating structural integrity with aesthetic appeal, ensuring each project not only meets but exceeds our clients' expectations.
More than just a master of his craft, Nathan is valued for his approachable, personable nature. He works closely with clients to understand their vision, offering expert guidance every step of the way. Nathan’s commitment to quality and collaboration makes him an indispensable part of the New View team.
When not on-site, Nathan loves surfing and camping with his family.
Harry Marten
Leading Hand Carpenter
Working with wood, from big picture problem solving to the intricate detailing you can achieve on architectural builds, is a work of love for our leading hand carpenter Harry Marten.
Harry began his carpentry career building and maintaining huts, lodges and bridges in the Fiordland National Parks of New Zealand. This led to residential construction work back in Australia where his carpentry skills continued to evolve, extended further by creating hardwood furniture for family and friends during weekends.
For the past 3 years, Harry has been an integral part of the New View team. Exposure to the detailed architectural build process has only furthered Harry’s love of carpentry, providing daily challenges to overcome where attention to detail is paramount.
When not on-site, Harry also has a love of the outdoors and can spend hours, if not days, mountain biking and skiing.

Jack Alvis
Carpenter
Jack is a top-tier carpenter, originally from the UK, who’s been calling Australia home for the past nine years. Known for his craftsmanship, Jack has a passion for working with reclaimed materials, seamlessly blending heritage techniques with modern design. Whether it’s restoring period features or shaping bold new builds, he brings a keen eye and steady hand to every New View project.
When he's not on the tools, you'll find Jack outdoors - surfing, hiking, or running - always chasing the next adventure.
Jack Lowe
Carpenter
Jack is another valued member of the New View carpentry team who is known for his versatility and positive energy.
Jack's passion is working with reclaimed materials although his skill set is broad and varied. With an eye for detail and a deep respect for craftsmanship, he takes pride in creating work that’s built to last and of such a standard as to be admired.
Outside of work, you’ll find Jack outdoors with his kids and family - camping, exploring, and soaking up the simple things.
Ben Shephard
Carpenter
Ben started his apprenticeship with New View in 2021 and has since become a qualified carpenter and highly valued member of the New View team.
Over the past four years, Ben has worked on a variety of renovation and new build projects. During this time, he has consistently delivered high-quality workmanship and earned a reputation for reliability and attention to detail. He has grown both professionally and personally, developing valuable skills in carpentry, problem-solving, and team collaboration. Additional theory-based study, undertaken through a Certificate IV in Building and Construction, has strengthened his knowledge, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to the industry.
When he’s not working, Ben enjoys diving, fishing and camping.
