Airlie House, Milton
Architect Cradle Design / Lead builder Chris Hayward / Project completion 2021 / Images Somethings Wild
Built in 1868 by Scottish pioneer David Warden, this beautiful heritage home is situated on 56 acres overlooking the town of Milton. Recognised as one of the Shoalhaven's grand period homes, Airlie House has undergone a remarkable restoration. While preserving its historical significance, it now exudes new life, with a unique charm created by the blend of old and new materials in its design.
The current homeowners had a vision to revitalise the property and enlisted the expertise of Cradle Design and New View to turn this dream into a livable reality. Their primary goals included ensuring that the house remains intact for another 150 years and modernising its features while preserving its historical aspects.
The Heritage Study recognises Airlie House as one of Shoalhaven's grand period homes, and its restoration has been documented on Restoration Australia on ABC.
After talking to a number of builders we engaged New View Building Solutions for our construction project. Throughout the project we were impressed by their enthusiasm, communication and attention to detail.
We are really pleased with the result and would have no hesitation in recommending New View Building Solutions for any new build or renovation project.
